BEST OF ONSA - 19 January

First time we've tried this format. All in all we had a great night. First and foremost, support for this event was excellent. About 100 people - including guests, artists and acoustic music fans crammed into Jagz for a great night's entertainment.

We enjoyed Mateusz Siluma (jazz piano) so much at our recent showcase that we asked him to commence proceedings from 8pm - which was a nice classy start.

Next up was Jo Collins. Jo has a fabulous voice and acquitted herself well. Great songs & well-played piano . A superb talent.

Michael Berk's instrumental guitar abilities are legendary. Another great performance tonight.

Second set and the audience really warmed to our second instrumental guitar hero: Roland Chadwick - he really played to the crowd and we lapped it up!

Nathan Ball with Adriane on Cello was next with a subtle but rich array of songs. Great stuff that was well appreciated as ever!

Final acts did well too. The Sam Paine trio arguably made the best impact of the night. With a really strong set of (mostly) original material he really connected with the crowd. There was great appreciation...even some dancing!

Last but not least The David Imrie Trio strutted their stuff. This is trad / acoustic / rock at its very best. By the time they neared the end of their set they were fighting a losing battle with the club music from downstairs - blame the promoter!! Well done under tricky circumstances.

Overall a great night. With so many people it was difficult at times keeping everyone quiet enough to appreciate the acts. Nonetheless it was a vibrant atmosphere. ONSA rocks!
